Rooted in KLD’s belief that healthcare environments should be anything but boring, the interior balances functionality with beauty. At the heart of the interior is a linear, open ortho bay featuring a custom bench and cabinet structure that offers parents a comfortable place to sit during their child’s appointment. Inspired by the work of Alvar Aalto and his approach of using light & color for wellness, the reception area introduces transoms that usher natural light into the previously enclosed bay, carrying light from the storefront all the way to the back of the space. Hints of color through millwork, art, & furniture add a lighthearted touch and contribute to the space’s clean, cheerful atmosphere.
