What inspires you?

Often called a "powerhouse," Kim Lewis is small in stature, but dynamic and spunky in personality. She brings soul and life to her designs, and is not afraid to make a bold statement with color, textiles and furniture. Modern and ethnic in style, Kim combines her love of travel and the vast cultures of this world with a modern simplicity.  Above all, the common thread in any Kim Lewis design, is undeniable class.

The most exciting and rewarding aspect of design is the chance to create a space your client will connect with, a space they will call home. Kim Lewis believes one of the greatest responsibilities designers have is to listen to their clients’ needs and preferences. The ultimate challenge is to capture the spirit and very essence of someone into their new space. 

At the end of the day, we should dwell in a space where we are inspired.

ABOUT KIM:

Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, Kim Lewis has always been passionate about art and design. During her studies at Texas A&M University, Kim Lewis was chosen by her art professor to paint a wall mural in the Langford Architecture building. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with an emphasis in Graphic Designs, and a Minor in Business for Marketing.  

Shortly after graduating, Kim Lewis made a career switch from an advertising agency to Four Hands, a global furniture importer based in Austin, Texas. She quickly became the Marketing Director, designing all marketing collateral, staging photo shoots with furniture, planning events, and creating award-winning furniture trade show displays. At Four Hands, Kim found a passion and appreciation for furniture and accents from around the world. It is here that Lewis learned that excellent design should engage all of your senses. 

While working at Four Hands, Kim Lewis was discovered by producers and the design team of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. For the past 2 years, she has been traveling around the country, working with the Design Team of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. She has designed over a hundred living/dining spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. As the Senior Design Producer of the show, she is responsible for working with the builders, trades and on camera design team to implement all designs. From the lighting layout to the drywall finish and the trim detail to the paint colors, Lewis manages all interior design aspects on the show. Working under unimaginable time restraints on the show, Kim Lewis works well under pressure and always displays ultimate professionalism with a cheerful attitude, and an incontestable level of excellence.  

Kim Lewis will undoubtedly be changing the scene of interior design for years to come.
